Materials:
Vorsteiner's brand foundation is rooted on their key technological advancements in the automotive industry. Their focus is to develop true lightweight components through the use of proprietary vacuum
technology manufacturing.
The lighter the car the more power and handling feedback is sent back to the driver. By replacing steel and aluminum with Vorsteiner body panels, the power to weight ratio of a Vorsteiner tuned vehicle is
fully maximized.
Dry Vacuumed Woven Plastic (DVWP) and high temperature vacuumed Carbon Fiber Reinforcement Plastic (CFRP) are commonly used in advanced military aerospace and also throughout the Vorsteiner product line.
Most other carbon fiber and plastic based body components use a wet lay method which is simply sheets of fiberglass, fiberglass reinforced plastic, or carbon fiber impregnated with wet resin, laid over a
mold or buck.
The Vorsteiner factory utilizes high compression vacuum methods to create an airtight and strong chemical bond between layers of composite sheets. By vacuum forming instead of typical wet laying by hand,
the surface weave of the panels are consistent and much more visually appealing. Further, less resin is used vs the wet laying technique, resulting in lighter and more rigid construction.
This vacuum forming method is rarely seen with carbon fiber body products, and is specifically unique to Vorsteiner's non-carbon fiber products. Their Dry Vacuumed Woven Plastic is advantageous in many
ways to wet lay up fiberglass, such as in elimination of air bubbles and air pockets, reduction of parts warping and waving over time, 25-35% reduction of weight, superior fitment of final parts due to
increased control of material thickness, and stiffer and more durable parts due to full impregnation and bonding of resins into composite layers.
All these components are designed to fit the car with no permanent modifications, and the original stock components can be reinstalled without trouble.
Vorsteiner is Perfection Redefined and your body shop will thank you for purchasing perfect fitting body components!
