AWE-EQUIPPED AUDI TT RS CRACKS 157 IN FLYING QUARTER MILE

AWE is mid-way through the second season of its Flying Quarter Mile series, where the brand pits AWE-equipped vehicles against each other to gauge top speed in what they call a “very unscientific” comparison.

The series started in 2019, and only requires that the vehicle have an AWE exhaust system installed to qualify to be a candidate for the series. The Flying Quarter Mile is filmed on a closed course. The Flying Quarter Mile begins with a rolling start in second gear, followed by a sprint down a consistent distance between two fixed points on the closed course that's roughly a quarter of a mile.

“We’ve run everything from a Volkswagen GLI to a 797 horsepower Redeye,” states AWE’s “Ambassador of Stoke,” Dave Verrecchia, who is also often the driver of the vehicles.

In addition to running an AWE SwitchPath™ Exhaust and AWE 4.5” S-FLO Closed Carbon Intake System, this TT RS that holds the current record dons a 4” turbo inlet pipe, MP injectors, stage 2 E85 tune, TCU tune, front mount intercooler, performance downpipe, performance mid-pipe, dogbone mount with blue poly bushing, deadest subframe locks, lowering springs, fixed camber plates, adjustable front links, adjustable rear end links, rear subframe inserts, DSG catch can, iridium cold plugs, carbon-ceramic rotors, 18x9.5 TSW Interlagos and Bridgestone Potenza RE71R tires.

“This thing sounds SO good ripping down the Flying Quarter Mile--this one is going to be a hard one to beat,” stated Verrecchia.
