AWE AND PERIPHERY GUITARIST MAKE THREE-PART PORSCHE EXHAUST SERIES
AWE, the precision engineering and manufacturing firm outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has partnered with Misha Mansoor, best known as the founder of and one of the three guitarists in the progressive metal band, Periphery. AWE will produce their bespoke exhaust suite for Misha’s Porsche 911 GT3, and the partnership will include the documentation of the before-and-after installation, the driving experience with the exhaust system in place, and the GT3 itself. The installation was done in partnership with Southern California’s TAG Motorsports.
“We’re huge fans of Periphery, almost as much as Porsches. When there was a chance to bring the two together, well, it was a no-brainer,” stated AWE VP of Marketing, Jesse Kramer.
Misha’s car is a 991.2 GT3 Touring wearing Miami Blue.
“The AWE Switchpath really seems to have unleashed the beast of the engine that is the 4.0L Flat 6 in my GT3 Touring. I have to admit, knowing how it sounds now, it’s almost a shame the car doesn’t come with this exhaust as standard. It not only drastically opens up and improves the sound of the car, but also dynamically assists by reducing weight and adding a slight power bump. Win-win all around, what more could you ask for?,” stated Misha
The exact exhaust that was installed was the AWE SwitchPath™ Exhaust for Porsche 991.1 / 991.2 GT3 / RS - Diamond Black Tips (SKU 3025-33016), which produces max gains of 19hp/20ft-lbs at the crank, and 48lbs of weight savings over the stock exhaust.
The video series can be seen on AWE’s YouTube Channel as well as Misha Mansoor’s YouTube Channel and will be rolled out in three parts, the first on the day of this release being issued. The first video is below.
