AWE TUNING ADDS CRIPPA 980LE CNC TUBE BENDER TO GROWING “AWE IN HOUSE” CAMPAIGN

AWE Tuning announced their Crippa 980LE CNC tube bender under their “AWE in House” campaign (#AWEinHouse) today. The Crippa bender, installed in 2016, sits within the manufacturing floor at AWE Tuning Horsham world headquarters.

AWE has conducted time studies using the Crippa and realized significant efficiency gains since bringing the “17,000 pounds of tube bending fury” into the production mix.

“With the Crippa’s multi-stack tooling, we are able to bend multiple radii and angles at once resulting in changeover time reduction and cycle time reduction as high as 80%. Further, the development life cycle is reduced by 20% due to its solid modeling integration enabling us to launch products at a much faster rate,” stated Jason Hertz, AWE Tuning’s Production Manager.

“We chose the Crippa bender because of its robust hardware configuration that allows solid modeling integration, SOLIDWORKS® data and designs are transitioned to the Crippa’s interface for seamless bend program creation, the all-electric motion drive (no hydraulics) enables precise repeatability and less power (we’re green), and the ability to execute multiple bends with incredible precision,” Hertz explained.
