AWE TUNING, GERMAN PERFORMANCE SERVICE, TO BUILD CLIMB TO THE CLOUDS HILL CLIMB CAR, OFF THE SHELF PARTS

May 29, 2014
Mt. Washington, NH

AWE Tuning announced today that it will join dealer-and-build-partner German Performance Service out of New England to create a competition worthy Hill Climb car built upon the premise of mostly off the shelf street-performance products from AWE Tuning and a host of other premium vendors. The car’s primary event will be the 2014 Subaru Mt. Washington Hillclimb, otherwise known as The Climb to the Clouds, on Sunday June 29th 2014, up Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, USA.

The car, a 2013 B8.5 S4 S-Tronic, will feature products from G.I.A.C., Yokohama, H&R Special Springs, SPC, Pagid and Audi Genuine Parts.

The car will be campaigned under the slogan “Race Sunday, Commute Monday,” to underscore that the majority of the parts are intended for street use. The campaign can be followed through various social media outlets at #CommuteMonday.

The #CommuteMonday car will be piloted by pro-rally driver Ramana Lagemann.

“During practices it has become extremely clear to me that these products may be made for the street, but they can certainly hold their own in battle,” stated Ramana Lagemann, coming off a May 18th win at the Mt. Ascutney Spring Hill Climb in the #CommuteMonday car.

The campaign will be anchored on the AWE Tuning website, at www.awe-tuning.com/blogs/unlocked/CommuteMonday, and promoted on Audizine, Fourtitude, AudiWorld, Quattroworld, and also via social media and press campaigns. The build thread on Audizine and Fourtitude will follow the S4 from concept-to-competition. The car will receive full #CommuteMonday livery in time for the Climb to the Clouds.

“I’m enamored with the “Race Sunday, Commute Monday” campaign as it truly exemplifies what we’re about – unlocking performance from daily driven vehicles. The CTTC car can, for the most part, be created by anyone with off-the-shelf products,” stated Jesse Kramer, Vice President of Marketing at AWE Tuning.
