AWE RELEASES SOLUTION TO PORSCHE WIND BUFFETING: THE AWE TUNING FOILER™ WIND DIFFUSER

AWE announced today that it has completed the anticipated solution to Porsche wind buffeting: The AWE Foiler™ Wind Diffuser.

Highlights of the Foiler™ Wind Diffuser include:

• UV-stabilized injection-molded plastic for the perfect OE-style look
• Combats buffeting, both on the track and on the street
• Allows for “single window” down driving without buffeting
• Perfect OE-like fitment

For those unfamiliar with wind buffeting, AWE VP of Marketing explains it as follows, “You know that sound that happens when your window is down at speed, that makes it feel like your head is going to implode? That’s called wind buffeting. It happens when you’re moving fast, and it’s quite the issue on the newest generation of Porsche 991, 718, Boxsters and Caymans. So instead of just letting our brains melt under the pressure, we did something about it.”

The AWE Foiler™ Wind Diffuser boasts an unobtrusive yet elegant design. Crafted from trim-matching UV-stabilized injection-molded plastic, the Foiler™ Wind Diffuser complements Porsche styling without calling “unneeded attention.” AWE states that installation is simple thanks to a user-friendly bolt-on design.

The product was envisioned initially during R&D on AWE's legendary Slate Gray Porsche 991TTS while developing and testing the AWE Turbo S Performance Exhaust, AWE Carbon Fiber S-FLO Intake, and AWE Performance InterCoolers. "Window-down daily driving and track testing became almost painful due to wind buffeting. As an engineering-first company, particularly with a bent toward exhaust-sound-perfection, we had to do something about this! And we didn't want the piece to be obtrusive - something subtle yet incredibly elegant and effective.
